Win Rate Calculator: Break-Even and Luck Check

Updated 8 October 2026 · 5 minute read

Type your wins, your losses and the payout. The calculator gives your win rate, the win rate a payout and fee need just to break even, the range your true win rate could be in, and whether a record like yours could be luck.

Count every round you played, wins and losses, in one stretch: a record picked after a good run looks better than the game really is. A payout of 2 means even money (a win returns twice the stake). The starting figures are an illustration, not any platform’s rules: use the payout and fee your own game states.

48 wins and 52 losses is a win rate of 48.0%. At a 2× payout with a 2% fee the break-even win rate is 51.02%, which takes 52 wins in 100 rounds, so this record is 3 points below break-even. If the true win rate were exactly break-even, 55.0% of records would sit at least this far from it. A record like this is well within what luck alone produces around break-even, so it cannot say whether the true win rate is above or below it. With 100 rounds the true win rate could plausibly be anywhere from 38.5% to 57.7%, which is ₹75.39 to ₹113.06 back per ₹100 staked.

See how often luck alone looks like your record

Pretend players each play your number of rounds at exactly the break-even win rate, using random numbers from your browser. There is no money in it, and it is not any app’s game. Count how many of them did as well as you, or as badly: that is what luck alone does around break-even.

What the calculator does

A win rate is the share of rounds you won. On its own it means little, because what matters is whether it is higher than the break-even win rate: the share of rounds you must win for the money back to equal the money staked. The calculator works that line out from the payout and any fee, then compares your record with it.

It also gives the range your true win rate could really be in, an exact test of whether a record like yours could be luck, and how many rounds it would take to tell.

How to use it

Type the rounds you won, the rounds you lost, the payout a win returns (2 means even money) and the fee, if your game takes one from each stake. Count one unbroken stretch of rounds: a record picked after a good run looks better than the game is.

The tiles give your win rate, the plausible range, the break-even rate, the chance that luck alone gives a record this far from it, and the rounds needed to tell. The bar shows the range against the break-even line. The pretend players at the bottom show luck at work.

A worked example: 48 wins in 100 rounds

The figures are an illustration, not any platform’s rules: a 2× payout with a 2% fee. Break-even is 1 ÷ (2 × 0.98) = 51.02%, which takes 52 wins in 100 rounds. A record of 48 wins is 48.0%, three points short.

Is that real or luck? If the true win rate were exactly 51.02%, 55.0% of records would sit at least as far from it as 48 wins does. So the record is easy to get by luck. The range for the true win rate runs from 38.5% to 57.7%, which is ₹75.39 to ₹113.06 back per ₹100 staked on average. A record of 100 rounds cannot say which side of break-even you are on.

Telling a gap of that size from luck takes about 2,150 rounds. Here is how the rounds needed grow as the gap shrinks:

Gap from break-evenTrue rate that far belowRounds neededTrue rate that far aboveRounds needed
1 point50.02%19,61752.02%19,607
2 points49.02%4,90453.02%4,899
3 points48.02%2,17954.02%2,176
5 points46.02%78456.02%782
10 points41.02%19561.02%194

Why short records say so little

Take 8 wins in the first 10 rounds at even money: a win rate of 80%. Luck alone gives a record that far from 50% about 10.9% of the time, and the range for the true win rate runs from 49.0% to 94.3%. The record leaves open a true rate below break-even. It would take about 20 rounds to tell a gap that big, twice what was played.

Small gaps are harder still. At even money, 510 wins in 1,000 rounds is 51.0%, yet luck alone gives a record that far from 50% 54.8% of the time, and telling a true 51% from 50% would take 19,620 rounds.

When a record is long enough

At 4,700 wins in 10,000 rounds, the same 2× payout with a 2% fee needs 5,103 wins to break even. The win rate is 47.0%, the range for the true rate is 46.0% to 48.0%, and the chance of luck alone is under 0.0001%. At that win rate ₹100 staked comes back as ₹92.12 on average. A long record can show that a win rate sits below break-even, which says the same thing as an average loss.

What it cannot tell you

It cannot see inside a game, so it cannot say whether stated chances are true, and the payout and fee are the ones you type: use the figures your own game states. It cannot predict the next round: each round is a fresh draw, and a good or bad record does not change it. It assumes every round has the same chance and none depends on another. The 5% line it uses is a convention, not a verdict.

To work out what a long session costs on average, use the expected-loss calculator. The odds converter shows the same break-even line as the chance a price implies, and the probability calculator gives the chance of a given record from a stated win chance. The Aviator odds calculator shows how a stated return becomes a win rate, and the hacks and predictors overview explains why a record cannot reveal the next result. The games guide and the rest of the free tools cover what to ask before you play.

Common questions

What win rate do I need to break even?

Divide 1 by the payout after the fee. At even money with no fee it is 50%. At a 2× payout with a 2% fee it is 51.02%. At a 9× payout with a 2% fee it is 11.34%. Win more often than that and the average result is a gain, win less often and it is a loss.

Is 55 wins in 100 rounds good luck or a real edge?

It could easily be luck. At even money, a record at least that far from 50% turns up 36.8% of the time by luck alone. Telling a true 55% win rate from 50% takes about 783 rounds, so 100 rounds cannot settle it either way.

How many rounds do I need before my win rate means anything?

It depends on the gap you want to detect. Around a 50% break-even rate, a true gap of 5 points takes about 783 rounds to tell from luck, 2 points takes about 4,904 and 1 point about 19,620. Small gaps need very long records.

What does the 95% range for my win rate mean?

It is the range of true win rates that your record is consistent with. If you repeated the same number of rounds many times, ranges built this way would contain the true win rate about 95 times in 100. For 48 wins in 100 it runs from 38.5% to 57.7%.

Can a win-rate record show whether a game pays what it says?

Only a very long one, and only about your own rounds. A short record cannot tell. A record of 4,700 wins in 10,000 rounds sits far below a 51.02% break-even rate, but no calculator can see inside an app, so treat it as evidence about your rounds, nothing more.

Are the wins and losses I type stored or uploaded?

No. Everything is worked out in your browser and nothing is saved. If you press the copy-link button, your record goes into the link after the # sign, a part that a website never receives.
