Dice Odds Calculator: Roll Over or Under

Updated 8 October 2026 · 4 minute read

Pick roll under or roll over and a target. The calculator shows the exact chance of winning, what the bet must pay for the game to keep nothing, what it keeps with an edge and how long losing runs get, then lets you roll practice dice with pretend money.

Try a win chance:

The game is taken to draw one of ten thousand numbers, 0.00 to 99.99, with equal chance. Roll under 25 wins on 0.00 to 24.99, which is exactly 25%. A 3% edge is only an example: use the figure your own app states, or type the multiple it shows for this bet and the calculator works out the edge that multiple implies. If your app treats the target number itself differently, trust your app’s rule over this one.

Rolling under 50 wins 50% of the time (1 in 2). With a 3% edge, a win pays 1.94× (break-even is 2×). Whatever target you pick, the game keeps about 3% of what is staked: ₹300 over 100 rolls at ₹100.

Practise with pretend money

Practice rolls draw random numbers from your browser and use the bet, edge and stake above. There is no money in it, and it is not any app’s game: it shows how a session tends to run.

What a roll-over or roll-under dice game is

The game draws a number from 0.00 to 99.99, ten thousand possible values with equal chance. You pick a target and bet that the number will land under it or over it. A low target for “under” wins rarely and pays a lot. A high one wins often and pays little. Apps differ in how they treat the target number itself and in what they keep, so you type both. The edge is the share of every stake the game keeps on average.

The rule behind every number here

Your chance of winning is set by the target alone. Roll under 25 wins on 0.00 to 24.99, which is 2,500 of the 10,000 numbers, exactly 25%. Roll over 50 wins on 50.01 to 99.99, which is 4,999 numbers, or 49.99%, because 50.00 itself wins neither bet. The payout that would leave the game with nothing, the break-even multiple, is 1 divided by the chance. A game that keeps 3% pays 97% of that: 1.94× for a 50% bet, 9.7× for a 10% bet and 48.5× for a 2% bet. Chance times payout is 0.97 every time, so each ₹100 staked brings back ₹97 on average at any target. What changes is the ride. Here are six win chances at a 3% edge over 100 rolls:

Win chancePaysLongest losing run to expect
1%97×83 rolls
5%19.4×39 rolls
10%9.7×25 rolls
25%3.88×12 rolls
50%1.94×6 rolls
90%1.08×2 rolls

The calculator sets nine win chances side by side for your own session.

How to use the calculator

Pick roll under or roll over, type the target, the edge your own app states, your stake and the rolls in a session. The tiles show the chance, the payout, the expected loss and the exact chance of finishing ahead. If you do not know the edge, type the multiple your app shows for the bet. Say a 50% bet shows 1.9×. That keeps 5.0%, because 1 minus 1.9 × 0.5 is 0.05. A multiple above break-even cannot be right for a game that keeps anything, so check the target and the side you typed.

Losing streaks are normal

At a 10% chance, the longest run of lost rolls to expect in 100 rolls is 25. A run of 19 or more turns up in 82.3% of 100-roll sessions, and a run of 31 in 28.6%. At 50% the typical longest run is 6. Every roll is a fresh draw: after 20 losses the next roll still wins at 10%, so no bet is ever due. The streak table in the calculator is exact for your own chance and session length.

Practice rolls

Roll 1, 10 or 100 and watch the balance line. A bet that wins half the time at ₹100 a roll costs ₹300 over 100 rolls on average, and about 38% of such sessions finish ahead. A 10% bet costs the same ₹300, with about 42% of sessions ahead and a swing of roughly ₹2,910 either side. The average is identical; how the sessions are spread is not. After a lucky stretch the practice box says how common that is, because a few good rolls say nothing about the next one.

What this page cannot tell you

We do not know any app’s rules: how it treats the target number, what it keeps, or which targets it lets you pick. The calculator is only as true as the numbers you type. It cannot predict a roll, and it does not try to. The doubling simulator shows what raising your stake after each loss does to a bankroll, and the Aviator odds calculator and Mines odds calculator apply the same arithmetic to other games. Set a limit first with the daily limit guide, see all the free tools, and read the games guide for the game types an app may list.

Common questions

Why does roll over 50 win slightly less often than roll under 50?

In a game that draws one of 10,000 numbers from 0.00 to 99.99, roll under 50 wins on 5,000 of them and roll over 50 on 4,999, because 50.00 itself wins neither bet. The gap is 0.01 percentage points. Your app may treat the target number differently, so check its rule on its own screen.

Does a long-shot dice bet cost more than an even-chance bet?

No. A bet with a smaller chance pays more per win, and the two cancel out, so the game keeps the same share at any target. A 2% bet pays 48.5× and an even bet 1.94×, and at a 3% edge both give back about ₹97 for every ₹100 staked. The long shot just loses more rounds in a row.

After many dice losses in a row, is a win due?

No. Each roll is a fresh draw, so earlier losses change nothing about the next roll. A 10% bet that has lost 20 times still wins 10% of the time on the next roll, and a run of 20 losses is ordinary over 100 rolls: it turns up in about three sessions in four.

How can I tell what my dice game keeps?

Type the multiple your app shows for a bet into the last box of the calculator. It compares that with the break-even multiple for the chance of winning and shows the share the game keeps. For example, 1.9× on a 50% bet keeps 5.0%. If your app states an edge or return figure, use that instead.

Is the practice dice the same as the dice game in my app?

No. Practice rolls draw random numbers in your browser and use the bet, edge and stake you set, with pretend money. They show how a session tends to run, not how any app behaves. We cannot see inside any app, so it cannot show how yours behaves.

Can a dice bot or pattern predict the next roll?

No. Where rolls are drawn at random, past numbers do not change the next one, so no pattern or bot can know it. The calculator shows what a bet costs and how streaks look, which is a different thing from knowing the next number. The doubling-after-a-loss simulator on this site shows what a popular plan does to a bankroll.
